Ravenwood is a custom woodworking business in Charlotte, North Carolina. The owner crafts original pieces of furniture like dining room tables, custom headboards, butchers block, elegant doors and so much more - truly beautiful work.

The Logo
Special thought was placed on how this logo would function branded onto furniture. Keeping this in mind, a significant design choice was to enclose the logo in a shape for optimal readability on finished pieces. By enclosing the “R” character it allows for the raven head to become the focal point - thus achieving our desired look.

We chose this concept but wanted to push it a little further.
Thoughful Revisions
After further discussion with the client,
we decided on the second variation as the final logo.

With the raven head opened - mouth design, the logo reads more clearly and creates a clear focal point.
